TLC Graduate Student Workshop Registration

Details   Avoiding Plagiarism
This is a joint workshop between UNLV Libraries and the TLC
This hands-on session will focus on mechanisms for teachers to deter intentional and unintentional plagiarism on the part of their students, and on ways to identify and confirm information sources. For the student perspective, it will explain the nuances of quoting, paraphrasing, and summarizing and provide examples of plagiarized papers.

Details   SPSS II
This non-credit workshop will provide an introduction to the application of SPSS statistical analysis software to research questions that involve statistical approaches such as ­t-test and analysis of variance. This workshop is a basic introduction to SPSS applications to research and is not a substitute for a credit course. Prerequisite to SPSS II workshop is SPSS I (by the TLC) or statistical skills for the use of SPSS frequencies, descriptives, and various charts (e.g., histogram, scatterplot), and knowledge of various levels of measurement and normal distribution.

This non-credit workshop will provide a brief overview of the basic functions of SPSS statistical analysis software including some simple descriptive statistics such as frequencies, descriptives, crosstabs, and simple regressions.
